Crafted by Fort (Gavin Elliott) (“we”, “us”) operates the Seek mobile application (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and any name or email address you choose to share. If you use email sign-in, our authentication provider processes your email address and sign-in credentials.
Game Data
We save game history, scores and match participation on our servers to run hunts and keep your personal history. Saving a score does not automatically join a public leaderboard.
Public Leaderboards (Optional)
Public leaderboard participation is off until you choose Join leaderboard. Joining allows your existing and future scores, rankings, display name (sometimes shortened or replaced with a player alias) and profile photo to appear in Seek’s global and Daily Seek standings and on the Seek website. Hunt photos are not shared on these boards. Your choice and its update time are stored with your account. You can withdraw in Settings → Public leaderboards; your entries will be excluded from subsequent public leaderboard responses, while your personal game history remains. Friends and groups you choose to join have separate standings.
Verification Photos
Photos submitted for judging are sent through our backend to OpenAI for image analysis. Seek does not save these judging photos in its application database or photo storage. OpenAI may retain API content for abuse monitoring under its data policies; we do not promise immediate deletion by every processor. Your device may retain photos for your results and sharing.
Profile Photo
If you choose to set a profile photo, we store it so it can be shown on your profile and on leaderboards. You can change or remove it at any time.
Friends and Social Data
If you add friends, we store the connections between accounts so we can show shared leaderboards. Your display name and profile photo are visible to your friends.
Precise Location
At a place uses your chosen map area and, with permission, your device location, which may be precise. We store the chosen hunt region with game records. We do not continuously track your movement or collect background location.
Purchase History
We process subscription status, transaction identifiers and purchase history through Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive payment card details.
Analytics & Crashes
We use TelemetryDeck for product analytics, without sending it account IDs, names, emails or photo content. Our backend also uses account-linked game, purchase and service-performance records to measure reliability, usage and costs. These include scores, attempts, response times, error codes and model token counts. We do not use this data for advertising tracking.
Notifications and Support
If you allow notifications, we store your device push token with your account. We process support requests and moderation reports to help players and handle abuse.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the service (run games, verify photos, track scores)
- Build location-aware hunts when you use "At a place"
- Connect you with friends and show shared leaderboards
- Manage your account and authenticate you
- Process subscriptions for premium features
- Improve the app through usage analytics
- Enforce our terms and prevent abuse
- Communicate important updates
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We share data with service providers:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and storage (including profile photos)
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase history management
- TelemetryDeck — product analytics without advertising tracking
- OpenAI — photo verification and hunt generation, subject to its API data retention policies
- Apple — authentication, payments, maps and notifications
We may also share information if required by law or in business transfers.
4. Data Retention
Deleting your account removes your active account and related game records. Service providers may retain backups, security records or transaction records under their retention policies or legal obligations. Contact us for questions about data held by our processors. Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
5. Data Security
We protect your information with:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication through Apple or email sign-in
- Row-level security on database tables
- Regular security reviews
No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
6. Children's Privacy
Seek is rated 13+ on the App Store in many regions; check the rating shown in your country. Audience choices adjust hunt prompts, not identity or age verification. Seek does not provide a parental-consent or age-assurance system. Parents and guardians should supervise younger players and contact us about any child privacy concerns.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — View your profile and game statistics in the App
- Correction — Update your display name and profile photo in the App
- Deletion — Delete your account via Settings → Delete Account; processor retention is explained above.
- Opt-Out — Choose not to provide optional information

8. International Transfers

- Right to opt-out of sale (we do not sell your data)

10. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
EEA residents have rights under GDPR:
- Right to access, rectification, and erasure
- Right to restrict processing and data portability
- Right to object to processing
Our legal basis includes contract performance, legitimate interests, and consent.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date and providing notice within the App. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
