Welcome to Seek! These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Seek mobile application (“App”) provided by Crafted by Fort (Gavin Elliott). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Seek, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to comply with these Terms. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the App.
2. Description of Service
Seek is a scavenger hunt game where players find real-world items, photograph them, and earn points. The App uses AI-powered image recognition to verify submissions. You can play solo or with friends, compete on leaderboards, and generate location-aware hunts based on where you are (“At a place”).
3. Age Suitability
Audience choices adjust prompts and difficulty; they do not verify age or provide parental controls. Follow the age rating in your region and supervise younger players.
4. User Accounts
You can use Sign in with Apple or the email sign-in route provided in the App. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings, which will permanently remove your profile data, game history, and scores.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Available introductory hunts and limits are shown in the App. Today's Daily Seek can be played without a subscription.
Premium subscribers (Seek+) receive unlimited solo and group games, groups of up to 8 players, and instant rematches.
Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
6. Friends and Social Features
You can connect with other players using friend codes. When you add friends, your display name and profile photo are visible to them, and you appear on shared leaderboards.
On the global leaderboard, players who are not your friends appear anonymously. You can remove a friend at any time from their profile.
You are responsible for the content of your display name and profile photo, which must not be offensive, infringing, or impersonate another person.
7. Location Information
The “At a place” mode uses your chosen map area and, with permission, device location (which may be precise) to build a hunt around nearby landmarks. Seek does not track your location continuously or in the background. You can disable location access in your device settings, though some features may then be unavailable.
8. Objectionable Content — Zero Tolerance
Seek has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. This includes but is not limited to: content that is obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, threatening, discriminatory, or illegal; content that harasses, bullies, or targets other users; content that depicts or promotes self-harm, abuse, or exploitation of minors; and any content that a reasonable person would find offensive, harmful, or inappropriate.
Crafted by Fort reserves the right to remove any content and terminate any account — immediately and without notice — that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates this policy or these Terms. We are not required to provide a warning, a reason, or an opportunity to appeal before taking action.
If you encounter objectionable content or abusive behaviour, please report it immediately through the in-app reporting feature or by contacting us at gavin@gavinelliott.co.uk. We review reports promptly and take action within 24 hours of a valid report.
9. User Conduct
When using Seek, you agree not to:
- Submit inappropriate, offensive, explicit, or illegal content in any form
- Harass, abuse, bully, threaten, or harm other players in any way
- Use a display name, profile photo, or any content that is offensive, impersonating, or discriminatory
- Attempt to manipulate or cheat the AI verification system
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
- Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to interact with the App
- Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities rather than reporting them responsibly
10. User-Generated Content
Seek allows users to submit verification photos, set display names, upload profile photos, and interact with other players on leaderboards. You are solely responsible for the content you submit or display.
Photos submitted for item verification are processed by OpenAI. Seek does not save judging photos in its photo storage; processor retention is explained in our Privacy Policy. Profile photos you choose to upload are stored and visible to other players; you can change or remove your profile photo at any time.
You represent that any content you submit does not infringe the rights of any third party, is not illegal, and complies with these Terms. Crafted by Fort reserves the right to remove any user-generated content without notice if we determine it violates these Terms or our zero-tolerance policy.
You retain ownership of photos you take. By submitting content, you grant Crafted by Fort a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the App.
11. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Crafted by Fort (Gavin Elliott) and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any photos you take.
12. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
While we strive for accuracy, AI verification may occasionally produce incorrect results. Game decisions based on AI verification are final.
When playing Seek, you are responsible for your own safety. Always be aware of your surroundings and do not trespass or enter dangerous areas.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crafted by Fort (Gavin Elliott) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
