Scavenger hunt ideas
A hunt for the time and place you have.
Choose a scavenger hunt idea by starting with your setting and the kind of experience you want. A shared list suits a relaxed afternoon; a short timed round adds competition. These are homemade formats you can adapt, alongside ways to play Seek.

The rainy-day room hunt
Stay in one room and find something soft, something round, a repeated pattern, a reflection and something that makes a sound. Photograph each item without moving anything fragile.
Try one shared list first. For a second round, change who chooses the find and who takes the photo.
The park detail hunt
Use a familiar path and look for a fork in a branch, two different leaf shapes, a shadow, a rough texture and a sign. Photograph rather than pick plants or disturb wildlife.
Agree a route instead of rewarding whoever travels furthest. The challenge is observation.
The city shape hunt
Look for a circle in a building, repeated windows, a painted symbol, a number and an unexpected colour combination. Stay on public pavements and stop safely before using the camera.
You can keep all prompts within a single square or pedestrian area. You do not need to cover a whole city.
The friends’ five-minute round
Give everyone the same five prompts and a clear boundary. Use one point per accepted photo, then share the most surprising answer at the end.
Try round, reflective, useful, tiny and colourful. For a rematch, keep the list but require new objects.
The untimed family hunt
Work together on nine broad prompts, allowing different interpretations. A child might spot a shape an adult walks straight past. Stop when attention fades, even if the list is unfinished.
These are shared-play ideas, not an in-app team mode or parental-control feature. Adults should check the app’s age rating and supervise younger participants.
Generate a list or start a game
The free generator on this website selects prompts for home, park or city play. Copy the list or print it, then judge your own finds.

Questions before you play
How many prompts should I use?
Start with five for a short round, or nine for a fuller hunt. Reduce the list if players lose interest or the area is small.
How do I make a hunt harder?
Choose interpretive prompts, ask for less obvious details or shorten the time. Do not make the play area less safe.
Are these fixed hunts inside Seek?
No. These are ideas for making your own activity. Seek generates its own in-app hunts.
